Giving Back with Construction Industry Community Initiatives in Michigan

The roads, buildings, and infrastructure supported by Superior Materials connect directly to the neighborhoods where our employees live, raise families, and build their lives. This connection to Southeast Michigan is personal, and it shapes how we show up for our communities.

As part of Votorantim Cimentos, we are aligned with a global commitment to social responsibility and community investment. Superior Materials’ construction industry community initiatives are grounded in Our VC Way, the shared value framework of the Votorantim Cimentos family. Here in Michigan, that commitment takes form through everyday actions like planting trees, supporting food banks, contributing to local housing projects, and lending time and care where it is needed most. Every effort helps us learn and evolve so we can continue building a Sustainable Legacy: one defined by integrity, respect, and a lasting sense of responsibility to one another.

Superior Materials’ community involvement extends beyond the jobsite. It lives in the volunteer hours our teams give, the local organizations we support, and the shared goal of leaving every community stronger than we found it. Living the principle of Acting with Ownership means recognizing that our responsibility does not end when the workday does. It extends into the care we put back into the places we call home.

Earth Day 22

Our Commitment to Volunteering

Giving back takes many forms depending on the season, the need, and the people who step forward. What remains constant is that Superior Materials’ employees show up. We help plant trees that restore urban green spaces, support Habitat for Humanity builds that provide families with stable housing, and volunteer during natural disasters such as the Detroit floods to help communities recover. Each effort reflects the same willingness to contribute beyond the jobsite and to Act with Ownership for the well-being of our communities.
Building a Sustainable Legacy includes the people and neighborhoods where we live and work. For our team, that commitment is lived every day through volunteer hours, partnerships, and thoughtful support for those who need it most. Each experience also helps us Learn and Evolve as individuals and as a company, reinforcing our belief that meaningful progress happens one act of care at a time. As community partnerships continue to grow, so will the opportunities for our people to give back.
